Southwestern Equines Montana is a tan wool saddle pad. The same saddle pad chosen over and over by professional trainers, pro ropers, pro cutters and barrel racers. Made with high grade fine tan wool, contoured spine and withers cut out with premium top grain wear leathers.

There is just nothing better than an all wool saddle pad. A true wool saddle pad will fit your horse better the day you put it on and it will only get better as it conforms to the shape of your horse's back. The hollow natural fibers will wick away sweat and heat keeping your horse dryer and cooler. Whether you are a trail rider or professional trainer this Wool Saddle Pad will last for years. This is a high quality wool pad made of fine tan wool that has a contoured spine and withers cut out with premium top grain wear leathers. Look for a more even sweat mark on your horses back when you use the Montana wool pad. Another reason people like wool is it is easy to clean. You can simple hose it off with cool water and then hang dry.

Select from a thickness of 3/4 inch or 1 inch. Then choose 30 inches, 32 inches or 27 inches lengths. The standard length is 32 inches.

Great Pad I really like this saddle pad. It looks good and leaves a nice solid sweat pattern. The only thing is the wear leather will probably not last long- it seems like it's just glued on.

Comparable to 5 star without the $$$ I investigated the 5 star pads and had every intention of purchasing one. I found this one on Amazon and it was similar in structure and function but 1/3 the price. I'm a weekend trail rider and cant quite justify the cost of a 5star. Maybe one day...But I was pleasantly surprised at the feel and comfort and usability of this Montana pad. The picture is of the 32x32 underneath my 16in Billy Cook roping saddle. No slippage when mounting and great conformaty over his high withers. Really happy with my purchase and I saved enough to go get something else my horse might need...lol

Nice little pad Nice little pad. I got the 3/4" thick, and 27" long pad. The length fits my short backed mare really well. I ordered a 5 star at the same time, and the quality seemed similar. I gave it 4 stars because my saddle still rolls when I step up in the stirrup. That's very possibly a saddle/conformational issue with my mare. Nonetheless, this pad didn't fix the problem I was hoping it would. :-/

best saddle pad, by far. Best saddle pad I've had yet. Wish it was a 28 instead of 27. But no biggy. I can leave my cinch looser, and there is NO slip when i mount. Great for leaving room on my mare's withers. I LOVE this saddle pad. I got the 3/4 by 27. Just took it on a long, up n down all around trail ride. Only had to readjust my saddle once after a pretty dang steep trail. And it was really just out of habbit. Never slips when i mount. Can't say enough great things about it.
